I have known Kelli Smith for a fair few years now, after meeting at one of the car shows probably going back to 2008 if not earlier and yes Kelli I still have pictures so watch it ;)
We have always got on well and had a laugh but I had never got round to doing a shoot with her, that was until recently when she was doing a shoot at Saracen House, so I had to arrange something and I am glad I got in quick as the day sold out really quickly which is no surprise.
It was great to see Kelli and the first thing she did was to sniff me (as you do!) as she has always liked the aftershave I wear, random I know but if you know Kelli, random is a good word to use (Just kidding Kelli)
I have to admit, I went to the shoot without much of a plan of what I was going to do but decided I wanted to get some pics of her with a flowing dress being blown by a fan with some back lighting or rim lighting as its known (stop sniggering!)
So the shoot got under way and, of course, Kelli was ever the professional and didn't need any guidance.
Then purely by accident, I got the light in the shot, but I was pleasantly surprised by the result
And I now knew what sort of stuff I wanted to achieve and without cheating like some photographers may do and add lens flare in post production the lens flare in my images was real. I know it is something you should avoid but rules are there to be broken!
It was a real pleasure to work with Kelli and I am looking forward to our next shoot together
Also, as always, a big thanks to Andrew at Saracen House for his help. I highly recommend his studio.
